GamePlay

Storm Warfare offers players an immersive experience in a turn-based strategy card game, where they engage in intense battles with the goal of defeating the enemy Commander by reducing their Defense to 0. Each match begins with players wielding Decks comprised of 30 cards, and success hinges on strategic card play and deck construction.

Breakdown of Rules

  • Command Point System:

    • Players earn one Command Point per turn, with a maximum total of 10 Command Points.

    • Command Points are expended to play various card types, including Units, Event cards, Hero cards, Commander Abilities, and Weapons.

  • Strategic Resource Management:

    • Limited Command Points early in the game necessitate strategic decision-making and careful planning for future turns.

    • Players must strategically allocate Command Points to play cards that synergise well and contribute to their overall strategy.

  • Impact of Command Points:

    • The availability of Command Points determines the potency of cards played and the potential for executing game-changing strategies.

    • More Command Points enable players to deploy stronger cards or multiple cards in a single turn, altering the dynamics of the match significantly.

  • Deck Building:

    • While players start with pre-made decks, deck building is crucial for long-term success.

    • Creating balanced decks that incorporate synergistic card combinations is essential.

    • Including conditional cards that provide solutions for challenging situations enhances a player's strategic depth and adaptability.

Storm Warfare's blend of tactical gameplay, resource management, and deck construction offers a rich and dynamic experience for players seeking strategic depth in a card game.

Factions

In Storm Warfare, factions provide diverse strategic options and gameplay styles for players to explore. Those who grasp the intricacies of the game mechanics can uncover innovative tactics and card combinations by experimenting with different factions and Commander types.

Players have the freedom to construct their Decks based on the major World War 2 powers, which are portrayed as factions within the game. Each faction boasts a unique array of cards, characteristics, strategies, and gameplay styles. This diversity offers players a multitude of viable options for exploring strategic depth and embracing different approaches to combat.

Germany = "Blitzkrieg" emphasised swift and surprise attacks
USA = economic prowess, technological advancement, and strategic planning
Japan = relentless offense, utilizing expendable units to overwhelm opponents
Soviet Union = versatility and a mixed play style
Great Britain = the defensive counter puncher with precision

Commanders

Commanders represent players in the game and earn ranks, rewards, and rare medals with each match, becoming legends in Warfare history. Players choose a Commander when creating a deck, with a limit of 25 basic Commanders but no restriction on Premium Commanders. Each Commander belongs to one of the five factions: Germany, Soviet Union, United States, Japan, and United Kingdom, and they can only use cards from their faction in gameplay.

Commanders are significant NFT assets, aging and progressing through ranks based on their achievements.

  • Basic Commanders: Every player receives one of the 25 Basic Commanders with predetermined names and faces. They can access all game features, start at the rank of Sergeant, and advance up to Colonel.

  • Premium Commanders: Limited to 10,000, each Premium Commander is unique with a distinct name and appearance. They begin as Second Lieutenants and can rise to General of the Army. Although they offer no in-game advantages, their rarity makes them highly sought after in the Marketplace.

Players start with 25 basic Commanders, each representing a faction/class combination and automatically generated. To acquire additional Commanders beyond these initial 25, players have the option to purchase them from the Marketplace. Premium Commanders, which are unique and limited in number, can also be obtained. However, players cannot generate new Commanders through any means other than purchasing from the Marketplace or acquiring Premium Commanders.

Veterans of card games will find challenging modes tailored to their expertise, while newcomers will have access to teaching and beginner-friendly modes for smoother onboarding.
